The Kia EV2 shortlisted as Car of the Year 2027…

When finishing our report about European premiere of the Seltos and K4 Hybrids, we are informed that the Kia EV2 has been officially shortlisted as one of seven models for the final round of the 2027 Car of the Year award.

This nomination marks Kia’s sixth consecutive appearance in the Car of the Year final, making it the first Asian manufacturer to do so.

The sequence began with the EV6, the winner in 2022 and the first South Korean vehicle to claim the title.

This shows the recognition by both experts and the wider public for the Kia models developed on the Electric-Global Modular Platform.

About the Kia EV2…

Unveiled at the 2026 Brussels Motor Show, the EV2 is Kia’s most compact dedicated electric SUV and the entry point to the brand’s EV range. Developed in Europe with European customers in mind, it is Kia’s second fully electric model produced at the company’s European manufacturing facility in Žilina, Slovakia, following the EV4 Hatchback.

Produced exclusively for the European market, The EV2 line-up includes two battery options: 42.2 kWh for Standard Range and 61.0 kWh for Long Range, with WLTP ranges of up to 317 km and 453 km respectively. We look forward to presenting a test of this EV2 soon—stay tuned!
